Leopards and landowners; Attitudes, conflict and incentives to increase leopard value on private properties

  • Editorial Office

Abstract

Leopards are frequently found on private land where they come in conflict with game and livestock farmers. Economic incentives are increasingly seen as a means to mitigate conflict. This study showed that 56.6 % of landowners were positive towards leopards, but 52 % indicated that leopards had no value.
